Sparse details about the project came to the surface last year when Billy Bob Thornton revealed that he would direct his first feature since the 2001 film Daddy and Them. Now we have details on the film titled Jayne Mansfield's Car, and a great line-up of actors to star in the new comedic drama. Deadline says Robert Duvall (Get Low), John Hurt (V for Vendetta), Kevin Bacon (X-Men: First Class), Robert Patrick (Walk the Line) and Ray Stevenson (Thor) in the story focusing on the culture clash of two families, from different continents, in 1969. Sounds like Flipped, but without the childhood romance.

Thornton has hasn't much success on the big screen lately (his last film was the generic action thriller Faster with Dwayne Johnson), but apparently he's been busy with his music career. However, having the man behind Sling Blade return to the director's chair is quite an enticing prospect. In addition to the big name talent, Butterfly Effect and TiMER star John Patrick Amedori apparently has a lead role as well. Thornton also wrote the script with Tom Epperson, so it sounds like this is a passion project through and through. With this cast and Thornton behind the camera again, this should be a project to keep an eye on down the road. Interested?

I got a very intresting information about this project, because movie will be produced by russian man :) But I really don't know can I write anything with details without permission. If I got any permission, I'll post all info to RPWS.

Well, once you have more info, please share. I'm not sure what kind of info about a movie would be kept secret (outside of shooting locations simply to keep spoiler types in the dark).

Robert Duvall told some details about the movie, it's not like producers. Now they are trying to hide any information. Possible changes in the plot. So I still can not understand, can we say about this information. I know that Robert will play the son of Robert Duvall.

It's funny that page/author says the title depicts a female name, I thought it was a man's name "Jayne Mansfield" simply because of Jayne Cobb of "Firefly" who is a man (portrayed by the hot n' sexy Adam Baldwin).

What do I need to google search for this info? Just "Jayne Mansfield"?

I'm trying to figure out who is on the stretcher in the one pic. That man isn't wearing a hat, but from what little I can see of his profile, the nose reminds me a bit more of John Hurt than RP. I have no idea.

I just have to say it: Kevin BAcon's hair is atrocious. RP's hair and glasses reminds me of a photo I have of my paternal grandfather. Very 1960's.
