And, they have ZERO chemistry and he would not want to be around a woman who reminds him of his son. But then him assigning her to be his partner is just bullshit too and thats just Chris Carters fault. It aint true to what Doggett would have done at the end of season 8.

Reasons why I'm rewriting season 8 (and 9) for my XF novel...

Hey,
I was talking to lorraine, mischa's sister, today and
I was trying to explain to her why shodds is so
important to myself and Mischa. Outsiders don't seem
to get it so I tried. One of the things (among many)
that I said was "shodds is just so wonderful. it is
breath taking in it's simplicity. it is a constant in
a ever changing world" Shodds is also a place where
everyone comes together in probably the only place
where there is no judgement, we are who we are. I
think now she has a better understanding of why Mischa
talks about us. She was afraid we would all be scary
but says we are very nice! She also said mischa would
probably get discharged friday!!! who hooo!!!!!!

Yep, my philosophy is still that instilled in the SHODDS mailing list ten years ago :)

Another piece of SHODDS history...

To our fellow SHODDSsters, we offer this (most :) humble work. Sung to the tune of "My Favorite Things", from "The Sound of Music".

"Our Favorit Tings"
by Lisa K., Doggett's Bitch and spookycc

Short hair or long hair,
Our Doggett bat-bitten,
Faded Marines t-shirt
And blue jeans tight-fittin',
Jawn boy in bondage, he's tied up with strings,
These are a few of our favrit tings.

Jawn in white t-shirts with bare-chested flashes,
Doggett in blue shirts and mad T2 dashes,
Blue eyes that smolder and give our hearts wings,
These are a few of our favrit tings.

When the bat bites,
When the bee stings,
When we're feeling bad,
We simply remember our favrit tings,
And theeennnn we feel sooooooooo glad!

Naked Jawn Doggett all covered in goo,
Sexy-ass agent baptized anew,
Slug-cutting ass-kicker that gives us the zings,
Dese are a few of our favrit tings!

He looks at Scully with long yearning gazes,
Robert's an actor whose talent amazes,
When he's shootin' and yellin' it makes our hearts sing,
When he's on screen, it's our favrit ting!

When the bat bites,
When the bee stings,
When we're feeling bad,
We simply remember our favrit tings,
And theeennnn we feel sooooooooo glad!

From CC chat (Thanks gazillion Elizabeth!)

How does an innocent question like this ..
Question: Will there be some humour oriented episodes in Season 9, or
is the Doggett/Scully dichotomy not developed enough yet to play
off of it?

gets an answer like this..
C Carter: It's tricky because Scully's a mother, and there's
great suspicion that ( snip ) is the father, so you have a
relationship that is unresolved and largely unspoken. So, I think
it's a little early to see Scully and Doggett get together.

Interesting, isn' it, how Carter took that question and called the MSR into question by saying it's largely unspoken, and talks about Doggett and Scully getting together...?

I just think it's so obvious that CC & Co. had a relationship between Doggett and Scully in mind when they approached seasons 8 and 9 - imagine what could have happened if Gillian was contracted through season 10, and the writers could have explored this idea further (getting rid of their attempts to force DRR on fans too - which, did you notice - only really started to happen AFTER it was announced that season 9 was the last season - post-"Hellbound"). Interesting that they started forcing the Doggett/Reyes thing after they knew that s9 was going to be the last season. Goes to show that they wanted a quick way to make all characters (somewhat) happy in the end, I bet if they had gone for season 10 we never would have seen some of the forced DRR crap that we got later in the season.

iloveyou WOW OH WOW!!! Yes, how he is just easily talking about Doggett and Scully getting together, he just says ITS TOO EARLY, not that its inappropriate or illogical or out of the question! thumbsup

Girl, you are right on the mark. Damn damn damn that Reyes girl. If she wasnt in season 9 so much as a main character I think the show would have been more popular anyways as just the Doggett and Scully Show...wallbash

It is noticable to me now that they forced it right when they knew it would all end. Just look at the things in the script and on screen in Daemonicus. No suggestion of DRR but MASSIVE DSR suggestion. They totally wanted to do it but chickened out...man if they were good writers they could have ran with this unrequited love thing with Doggett for Scully, it would have made it all more so much more interesting in season 9. Like i said yesterday when I was watching a scene from William, if Doggett and Scully were there discussing if Spender was Mulder, it would have looked and felt so intense, just the two of them on the couch and talking about Mulder' inability to protect himself. Anyways.

This is great! Well done.

Dude, not cool.

I can confirm the existence of, but not the veracity of, a rumor that Laurie is campaigning to have sites of Doggett-friendly authors, lists, etc. closed down.

Ahhh... those were the days. The petty XF fans/MSR 'shippers couldn't handle Doggett having fans and fanfic of his own. Silly little creatures.

Re: SHODDS - The Memories

I don't think SHODDS comes in first in the relationshippers category anymore, but the last I checked (over a year ago) SHODDS was the largest relationshippers group that didn't have spam emails bumping it up to the top of the relationshippers list on Yahoo!Groups, pretty much all of the top 'shipper groups have mainly spam emails (advertisements, etc.) posted to them, SHODDS does not. I still think that it could be the number one relationshippers mailing list on there, at least in the XF cateogory. Honestly I don't care so long as it is still somewhat alive and kicking - SHODDS is a very special group of people, one that I am proud to call friends (even if we aren't very active or talkative anymore).

Totally! monkey dance And for years SHODDS remained at the top spot on Yahoo!Groups for relationshippers (and that was out of all 'ships, not just XF lists). And to think that when it hit number one on the list it was barely over 100 members, it eventually grew to about 2oosmthg (IIRC that's the most it ever had), it's currently at 163 members (and it lost two members last week cry )

It's still the best XF mailing list out there IMO :)

Because I don't know where else to post this...

<<...here's the blurb from the "51 Sexiest Stars" (or something... it
is the size of a magazine; has Jennifer Aniston on the cover).

Gillian Anderson and Robert Patrick (#9)

Who would have guessed that David Duchovny would eventually meet his
match? We're not sure how he thought of it, but X-Files creator,
Chris Carter, made a stellar casting call my landing Terminator 2
star Robert Patrick as cynical Special Agent John Doggett. Picking
up with Anderson where Duchovny left off, Patrick's gritty
performance and chilling demeanor (not to mention his unwavering,
haunted gaze) has us hooked. Even early on in Patrick's run, the
underlying attraction between Doggett and Scully was evident. And we
just love how the shoe is finally on the other foot for Scully, a
former skeptic who now finds herself trying to make Doggett a
believer in the paranormal.>>

Of course I found it posted to SHODDS back on September 8, 2001.

Heck yeah, SHODDS is still around!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I'm going through messages at the end of September 2001, and there's many messages about what Robert Patrick's shoe size is. Someone has guessed 13, does anyone know for sure? Luvy? devious Here's a sampling of some of the discussion exchanges:

Posted: September 26, 2001

Not that we'll ever truly now (unless he decides to do an interview
for "mr. INTENSITY" *grin*), but I'd put money on him being a size 13.
cheers,
coolbyrne, still cheeky

On pic attached -- woo baby!
O.k. after I calm down, I decided to do a scientific experiment to
get an approximate measurement of the object under observation...
(I use matrix system -- suppose to be more scientifically accurate,
ahem)

Zarina's experiment:
Basically I took a ruler and measure his height, taking into account
the slight 'slouchiness', it came to about 5.5cm
His cute big feet is about 1cm
now since he is 6" feet tall (72 inches)
It works out that his feet (measured at 1cm) should be about 13.08
inches, so if the 2/3 theory is correct that makes a certain hottie's
err, 'male reproductive organ' to be about 8.72 inches! = >

Captain wrote:

Shoe size x 2/3, fer cryin out loud...

z: so see here captain the whole thing REALLY is a exercise in taking
scientific measurement, yeah that's it! Honest!
zarina, going to scrutinize that photo again! for the sake of science!

That's as long as my foot!!!

Okay... so if that's *cough* normal... how much, erm... longer is it
