Upcoming Forum Membership Checks

This July we will be going through the SoX Forum member list and checking that everyone is abiding by the forum rule of "Keep Active, Stay A Member", and that all active members have their usernames in SoXer Blue which indicates to forum admins and mods that you have read the rules and agree to them.

If your member name is still grey, please go read the forum rules and reply to the thread so your name can be SoXer Blue. What will happen in July if you are still grey is that you will be sent a PM to read the rules and reply to the thread, if you don't do that within a week of receiving that PM, your account will be suspended and an email will be sent to you about the matter in which to remain a member you MUST reply back to that email and we will work with you so your account can be reactivated and your name changed to SoXer Blue (you will still have to read the thread and reply to it). Some forum members have read the rules and are just not all that active. If this is you, you will be sent a PM and an email reminder to return to the forum and engage in discussions (reply to current discussions, or start your own, it's not that hard to do). If you don't return within a week of receiving this message your account will be inactivated (not deleted, don't worry) and you will be asked to email us when you want to log onto the forum to take part in discussions again. If we don't hear back from you in a month, your account will be deleted.

Members with zero posts or who have not logged on in over three months, or who have never logged on after joining the forum will be deleted without warning.

Within the next week or two the SoX Forum rules will be changing to reflect some recent issues we have had brought to our attention - all members will be asked to re-read the rules when the changes are made (and to reply to the thread again). I know reading can take some time, but members who are serious about maintaining a well-kept and happy forum will take two or three minutes from their day to re-read them, and yes, us admins and mods appreciate that very much.

Anyway, this is the first heads up that some cleaning is going to be happening on the forum in the coming weeks. Stay tuned, and if you have any questions feel free to ask them here in this thread, or PM me (Dana Doggett) privately. Thanks so much!

THIRTY? You're a wee young thing, don't worry about it!

P.S.: Once you pass the age of 45, everyone under the age of about 32 starts to look like a kid. It's a bit disorienting.

Cassie, I think this is a great idea. Things change, so rules should be adjusted to reflect current ideas, issues, and concerns. IMO, anyone who truly enjoys this forum for the camaraderie, the intelligent discourse, (also) the rowdy and silly and somewhat naughty discourse, and the overall enjoyment of it should not have a problem. The first time I checked this place out, I was quite impressed by the rule that you had to keep up some consistent participation --- in fact, it's why I *didn't* sign up at first, because I wasn't sure (based on my schedule and other obligations) that I could maintain the level of participation required at that time. I am soooo glad I was able to eventually do it, because I have met some wonderful people and made some cool friends here.

Good idea to have a bit of a clean to make sure the forum is running as efficiently as it can and to make sure we are all happy and behaving.

I hope many of the members become more active, because its so much more fun when loads are involved but I can understand that people get busy.

If you don't want your age showing up, I think you can go into your profile and just remove it, so then it doesn't come up.

just a quick note to say that after a crazy, hectic, bizarre past couple of months, things are back to "normal" whatever that is! ) and I hope to be an active poster on here. I really missed reading through all the posts!

Okay, I think I'm still grey but I'm not surprised. You know I still have this fear of speaking English in front of those who are native speakers.
Anyway it's good to see the forum has expanded. Lots of different topics, yummy. Pretty much included my interests.
